Senior Motor Drives Engineer (Emag)

Dyson presents a distinctive opportunity for skilled professionals to become a part of its Research, Design and Development (RDD) team in Singapore as a Senior Motor Drives Engineer. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in Electrical Machines Design, along with Modelling and Simulation, to create innovative Motor Drives solutions for the next generation of Dyson technologies and products. You will collaborate within a larger project team, and your responsibilities may include: 

• Supporting and delivering from the design phase through to industrialization. 
• Translating requirements into specific deliverables at each project milestone. 
• Designing, developing, documenting, and implementing motor control algorithms. 
• Simulating and testing motor controls and electromagnetic designs. 
• Assisting in the design, commissioning, and troubleshooting of complex production testers. 
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams and external vendors on engineering design tasks. 

About you 

• Possess a degree in engineering or a related numerical discipline, or equivalent industry experience. 
• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in developing motor control algorithms and working on the electromagnetic aspects of single-phase or three-phase motors. 
• Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge across various facets of electrical machines, motor control, power electronics, and analog-digital sensing technologies. 
• Exhibit motor control simulation proficiency using MATLAB SIMULINK, SIMSCAPE, SPICE tools, or code generation tools such as embedded coder.       
• Possess knowledge of Finite Element Analysis (FEA) related to electrical machines. 
• Show statistical analysis capabilities concerning data derived from both experimental and production test logs. 
• Exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills to effectively bridge multiple functional teams. 
• Capable of delivering clear progress updates in meetings while maintaining high-quality documentation. 
• Experience in planning, overcoming challenges, and advancing projects within an Agile framework.
