DevSecOps Engineer

Required Qualifications and Expertise

• Educational background in Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields. A strong passion for automation, standardization, and adherence to best practices in infrastructure and security is essential.
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Delivery (CD) processes.
• Proven experience managing high-availability, high-performance, and secure multi-data center architectures, including hybrid cloud deployments.
• Proficiency in at least three programming or scripting languages such as Bash, PowerShell, Python, or Go.
• Hands-on experience with version control systems like Git and familiarity with modern branching strategies.
• Practical experience working with public cloud platforms, particularly AWS.
• Experience utilizing automated provisioning tools including Ansible and Terraform.
• Real-world experience with virtualization technologies like KVM, VMware, and Hyper-V.
• In-depth understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and Fargate ECS.
• Experience with infrastructure monitoring and observability solutions like Grafana, CloudWatch, and Open Telemetry.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for diagnosing complex system and application issues.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps tools such as GitLab, GitHub, and BitBucket.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery strategies, system backup procedures, and restoration processes.
• Understanding of RPM-based software packaging and deployment methodologies.

Security and Regulatory Compliance Expertise

• Experience integrating security controls within CI/CD workflows and cloud-native infrastructure architectures.
• Hands-on experience conducting security assessments, vulnerability scans, and system hardening activities.
• Familiarity with enterprise security tools such as HashiCorp Vault, ElasticSearch Enterprise, Tenable, HP Fortify, Sonatype Nexus IQ, and AWS security services.
• Strong knowledge of network infrastructure, including firewalls, subnets, routing, and access management.
• Experience performing security evaluations in government or other highly regulated environments.
