zOS System programmer

Job Responsibilities:

- Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade IBM z/OS operating systems along with associated system software.

- Execute IPL, customize systems, and fine-tune parameters to guarantee peak system performance and stability.

- Oversee SMP/E for the installation, upkeep, and patching of software.

- Track system performance using tools such as RMF, SMF, and OMEGAMON, and apply tuning recommendations as needed.

- Manage datasets, catalogs, storage (DASD), and oversee capacity planning.

- Conduct system-level problem determination, root cause analysis, and resolve z/OS incidents.

- Assist in disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity planning (BCP), including testing and execution.

- Coordinate mainframe infrastructure modifications in line with change management protocols.

- Platforms: IBM z/OS, z/Architecture

- Security: RACF, MFA, security auditing, and compliance

- Subsystems: JES2/JES3, CICS, DB2, IMS, TCP/IP

- Tools: SMP/E, RMF, SMF, OMEGAMON

- Scripting: JCL, REXX, CLIST
