Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and sustain enterprise search solutions leveraging Apache SOLR
- Construct NLP applications utilizing spaCy and Python
- Configure SOLR indexing schema, design analyzers, tokenizers, faceted search, and ranking systems
- Create solutions for information extraction, entity recognition, text classification, and document processing
- Establish and enhance search relevance models along with query performance
- Develop and implement REST APIs for search and NLP functionalities
- Build custom NLP pipelines and language models utilizing spaCy
- Process and analyze both structured and unstructured data from diverse sources
- Conduct performance tuning, search optimization, and troubleshooting
- Engage in collaboration with Data Scientists, Architects, Product Owners, and Engineering teams
- Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in Apache SOLR administration and development
- Proficient in the spaCy NLP framework
- Strong programming proficiency in Python
- Familiarity with Natural Language Processing (NLP) concepts, including
- Named Entity Recognition (NER)
- Text Classification
- Tokenization
- Lemmatization
- Part of Speech (POS) Tagging
- Sentiment Analysis
- Information Extraction
- Experience with Lucene-based search engines
- Understanding of SOLR indexing, querying, search relevance tuning, faceting, and schema management
- Proficiency in REST APIs and microservices architecture
- Familiarity with JSON, XML, and data processing methodologies
- Experience with version control systems like Git
- Desirable Skills
- Familiarity with Elasticsearch or OpenSearch
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and Deep Learning models applied to NLP
- Experience with Vector Search, Semantic Search, and Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG)
- Acquaintance with LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face, or Generative AI technologies
- Experience with cloud service platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines
