Software Engineer

Key Responsibilities

. Create, manage, and improve applications utilizing PowerBuilder and PowerScript.

. Design and implement DataWindows, windows, menus, user objects, and scripts.

. Write, optimize, and troubleshoot SQL queries, stored procedures, and database entities.

. Work with relational database systems such as SQL Server, Oracle, or Sybase.

. Analyze business needs and convert them into effective technical solutions.

. Resolve application-related issues and deliver prompt fixes.

. Conduct debugging, testing, and performance optimization.

. Engage in code reviews and adhere to development standards.

. Assist in application deployment and address production-related challenges.

. Collaborate with business analysts, QA teams, and fellow developers.

. Create technical documentation as needed.

Required Skills

. 3-8 years of practical experience in PowerBuilder development.

. In-depth knowledge of PowerScript.

. Proficient in DataWindow development and customization.

. Strong understanding of SQL and database principles.

. Familiarity with stored procedures, functions, triggers, and database performance optimization.

. Good grasp of software development and debugging methodologies.

. Ability to comprehend and maintain existing applications.

. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Good to Have

. Experience in PowerBuilder upgrades/migrations.

. Knowledge of PFC (PowerBuilder Foundation Class).

. Familiarity with APIs, REST/SOAP web services, or third-party integrations.

. Exposure to version control systems like Git or SVN.

. Experience with enterprise or client-server applications.

Education

. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

. Equivalent technical experience may also be taken into account.
