We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Scientist to lead the charge in advancing our organization's technological frontiers and explore the limits of machine learning within our field. This role is tailored for an enthusiastic individual with an in-depth understanding of machine learning methodologies and algorithms, coupled with a proven history of applying this expertise to tackle intricate, real-world challenges.

As a Senior Machine Learning Scientist at MoneyLion, you will play a key role in fostering innovation and enhancing efficiency throughout the organization. This position involves strategic planning for AI initiatives and aligning machine learning projects with overall business goals. You will conduct and oversee sophisticated research in machine learning, guiding pioneering projects from the initial concept to full implementation. This includes innovating and developing cutting-edge algorithms and translating them into actionable solutions that directly influence our business operations and strategic objectives. Staying abreast of the latest advancements in AI and machine learning will be essential to ensure our business remains at the forefront of these technologies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead pioneering research in machine learning and AI, converting theoretical concepts into practical uses and novel algorithms
• Oversee major projects, managing all phases from research to development and implementation, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and trends
• Design, experiment with, and refine advanced machine learning models and algorithms into functional applications
• Address and articulate complex algorithm designs and challenges in domains such as deep learning, natural language processing, search, and recommendation systems
• Monitor and enhance existing algorithms to improve performance and efficiency
• Assess the effectiveness of machine learning models both offline and online using well-defined metrics
• Mentor Machine Learning Scientists and Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Data Engineers, Product Managers, Software Engineers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and MLOps Engineers to embed machine learning technology into products and services
• Remain at the cutting edge of technological developments in machine learning and AI
• Effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences to influence strategic decisions and provide insights on the potential impact of emerging technologies

About You

• Strong mathematical, statistical, or related quantitative skills
• Proven experience in both research and practical applications of machine learning, statistical modeling, data analysis, and algorithm development
• Experience in leading and managing complex machine learning projects and cross-functional teams
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with creativity and curiosity
• Proficient in programming languages such as Python and SQL
• Familiarity with machine learning frameworks and libraries like Tensorflow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, XGBoost, and LightGBM
• Advanced knowledge in specialized domains such as deep learning, natural language processing, search, and recommendation systems
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in business terms
• Preferably experienced with big data technologies like AWS, MLFLow, DVC, Metaflow
• Preferably experienced in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments
• Dedicated to continuous learning and staying updated on the latest industry trends
