Senior Electrical Engineer/ Electrical Lead

Brief Summary

• Own the end-to-end power system design review and commissioning readiness process for mission-critical projects, partnering with multiple stakeholders. Ensure technical excellence across all stages—from design development and testing through energisation and final handover.

Responsibilities

• Examine vendor technical submittals and specifications for major electrical packages (including transformers, MV/LV switchgear, UPS/batteries, generators, busway, earthing, and lightning protection) to confirm consistency with project intent. Plan and coordinate energisation activities, phased capacity allocation, and utility connection requirements to enable staged delivery. Verify core design outputs such as load calculations, single-line diagrams, redundancy philosophy, and the overall power architecture. Contribute to technical tender evaluations and detailed design work, including assessment of lead times, installation allowances, and interface / integration requirements. Supervise site delivery quality, ensuring adherence to safe work practices, and track installation readiness for testing. Lead engineering reviews including protection studies, selectivity/discrimination, earthing performance, and power quality assessments. Review and approve handover deliverables such as as-built drawings, test reports/records, and commissioning documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a closely related discipline. Minimum 8 years' electrical engineering experience, including at least 3 years supporting critical facilities or similarly high-availability environments. Hands-on experience with installation, energisation, and commissioning activities, with the ability to troubleshoot site issues and validate test results. Proven capability to independently review drawings, specifications, and test/commissioning procedures, and provide clear, actionable technical feedback. Understanding of resilient power system design principles and phased commissioning strategies across complex electrical infrastructure.
