Senior Director - Regional Tax Leader - APAC & China

Key Responsibilities

• Establish strategic collaborations with country and regional management to facilitate effective business information sharing. Evaluate intricate transactions, pinpoint tax-sensitive matters, and perform research to offer detailed alternatives for tax positions. Provide guidance on significant income and non-income tax audits and engage in negotiations with foreign tax authorities when necessary. Maintain relationships with external tax advisors and legal counsel for planning and auditing processes. Oversee customs-related audits and litigation, working closely with pertinent departments. Liaise with the Tax Accounting Department to guarantee precise preparation of tax items for financial reporting. Analyze and interpret international legislation, court rulings, and regulations to inform management decisions. Supervise the tax department personnel and oversee external projects and consultants.

Qualifications

• Education: A graduate degree in Tax and Accounting or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in international tax planning and management within prominent corporations or firms. Familiarity with tax accounting standards and regulations, including FIN 48 and FAS 5. Demonstrated expertise in managing foreign tax audits and coordinating with external legal counsel. Excellent communication abilities, both oral and written, with a strong customer service orientation. Capacity to lead and mentor a team effectively, exhibiting project management focused on results. Advanced proficiency in Excel and a commitment to ongoing professional growth.
