Senior Big Data Developer

Position Summary: We are in search of a proficient and seasoned Senior Big Data Developer to enhance our technology team. The successful candidate will take on the responsibility of designing, developing, and sustaining high-performance big data solutions, collaborating effectively within a structured Agile development framework.

Main Responsibilities:

• Examine functional specifications and offer valuable technical insights
• Craft and execute resilient, scalable, and high-quality software solutions
• Deliver effort estimations and technical contributions for project planning
• Create solutions utilizing Test-Driven Development (TDD) and Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) methodologies
• Conduct non-functional testing, including performance and scalability evaluations
• Assess design documents and code from team members
• Ensure thorough technical documentation is maintained
• Assist in functional and user acceptance testing (UAT)
• Offer L3 production support, encompassing investigation and resolution of technical challenges

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 8 years of hands-on experience in Java/J2EE development
• Demonstrable experience with big data technologies (e.g., Spark, Hadoop)
• Degree or Diploma in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
• Experience in Agile/Scrum development methodologies
• Thorough understanding of the full software development lifecycle and large-scale system architecture

Technical Expertise:

• Strong grasp of design patterns, system performance optimization, and tuning
• Expertise in Java 1.8+, with a focus on multithreading and concurrency
• Practical experience with Apache Spark, Hadoop, and big data processing frameworks
• Familiarity with HBase, Elasticsearch, and large-scale distributed data architectures
• Experience with messaging solutions such as IBM MQ and Apache Kafka
• Proficient in using DevOps tools like Maven, Gradle, Jenkins, Git, and GitLab
• Knowledge of quality and testing tools: JUnit, Cucumber, SonarQube
• Experience with Spring Framework, RESTful APIs, gRPC, Microservices, and ORM frameworks
• Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as Kibana, Spark UI, and the ELK Stack
• Experience with relational databases like Oracle or MySQL is advantageous

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in banking or financial sectors, especially in corporate banking or cash management
