Job Description
Position Overview
Become a vital member of an energetic team dedicated to enhancing pharmacological research through cutting-edge study design and implementation. This role presents a unique opportunity to play a significant part in pivotal projects while refining your knowledge and skills in translational pharmacology.
Key Responsibilities
- Take the initiative to design and carry out integrated in vitro and in vivo studies aligned with project goals. Produce high-quality, decision-making data through thorough experimental design, troubleshooting, statistical analysis, and interpretation. Share findings and suggestions during internal project meetings, ensuring precise documentation and compliance with study schedules. Execute ASO and siRNA transfection studies, conducting dose-response and time-course experiments to assess target knockdown, potency, durability, and functional results. Culture and sustain metabolic cell models, which include primary hepatocytes, HepG2, C2C12 myotubes, and 3T3-L1 adipocytes. Create and implement mechanistic assays pertinent to obesity and MASH, evaluating lipid accumulation, glucose uptake, insulin sensitivity, and mitochondrial respiration. Utilize molecular biology techniques such as RT-qPCR/qPCR, Western blotting, ELISA/Luminex, RNA/protein extraction, and downstream analyses. Develop, submit, and uphold compliance protocols, conducting efficacy and PK/PD studies within relevant mouse models. Carry out metabolic assessments and track various health metrics in rodent models, gathering samples for analysis and supporting bioanalytical workflows. Analyze experimental data with appropriate software, applying suitable statistical techniques while ensuring thorough laboratory records are maintained. Generate detailed reports, presentations, and study documentation to aid in project advancement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Pharmacology, Biomedical Sciences, Life Sciences, or a related field with 10-12 years of relevant experience, or a PhD with 7 years of practical experience in pharmacology. Proven expertise in study design, execution, troubleshooting, data analysis, and scientific reporting with minimal oversight. Established experience in developing and managing compliance protocols for rodent studies. Strong grasp of experimental rigor, reproducibility, data integrity, and meticulous laboratory documentation. Exceptional communication, organizational, and teamwork abilities with an emphasis on translational research. Previous experience with RNA therapeutics (ASO/siRNA) is necessary; experience in metabolic disease pharmacology is beneficial but not mandatory. Applicants without experience in metabolic disease indications are encouraged to apply, as thorough training will be provided.
