Mechanical Engineer (Middle/Senior/Lead)

Primary Duties

Product Design & Innovation

• Oversee the mechanical design and enhancement of new products.
• Develop original concepts and convert them into comprehensive mechanical designs.
• Create modular hardware frameworks and reusable design strategies.
• Design intricate mechanical systems, assemblies, and mechanisms while considering performance, cost, manufacturability, and reliability.
• Transform product and customer specifications into actionable engineering solutions.

Engineering Analysis & Verification

• Conduct engineering calculations and technical evaluations on components and assemblies.
• Proactively identify technical risks and formulate effective mitigation strategies.
• Design and implement testing protocols, validation strategies, and prototype assessments to confirm design efficacy.
• Incorporate quality and reliability factors throughout the design phases.

Project Management

• Oversee mechanical development timelines and deliverables for designated projects.
• Assist in project planning efforts to ensure timely and budget-compliant design delivery.
• Work with stakeholders to outline product specifications and technical criteria.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to value engineering projects.

Manufacturing & Production Assistance

• Collaborate closely with manufacturing teams to facilitate product industrialization and readiness for production.
• Provide insights into manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, machining, sheet metal fabrication, assembly, and other related production methods.
• Diagnose manufacturing and product performance challenges and suggest design modifications as necessary.

Interdepartmental Collaboration

• Engage with Electrical, Firmware, Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and Product teams throughout the product development process.
• Take part in design evaluations and contribute to multidisciplinary problem-solving efforts.
• Guide and mentor junior engineers when appropriate.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a similar field.
• Over 8 years of experience in mechanical product design and development.
• Demonstrated experience in advancing products from concept and prototype phases to mass production.

Technical Proficiencies

• Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles and product development processes.
• Experience in designing complex mechanisms, including:Gear trainsClutchesCamsLinkagesMotion-control systems
• Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems, encompassing:MotorsSensorsPower transmission components
• Practical experience in designing:Plastic componentsSheet metal partsDie-cast componentsRubber componentsMechanical assembliesElectro-mechanical assemblies
• Proficient in SolidWorks and/or other 3D CAD software.
• Familiar with simulation and analysis tools (FEA preferred).
• Strong grasp of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).

Preferred Skills

• Understanding of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Six Sigma methodologies.
