Job Description

Avanade is experiencing rapid growth within Microsoft's Mid-market and Corporate sectors, specifically targeting the upper segment of Microsoft's SME&C (Small and Medium Enterprise & Corporate) ecosystem. As part of our strategic transformation of the IT Services market in this space, we have established a dedicated SME&C Business Unit focused on delivering scalable, repeatable solutions rooted in 25 years of enterprise expertise. This initiative emphasizes structured packaging and predictable operational models designed to serve our SME&C clients effectively. Our current service portfolio includes hundreds of SME&C clients utilizing AI Business Solutions, Cloud & AI Platforms, and Security services. To enhance our delivery capabilities, we have introduced Solution-specific 'Catalyst Squads'—virtual teams responsible for prepackaged, repeatable 'Catalyst Solutions' that guide projects from qualified leads through to successful completion. The Risk Analyst plays a vital role within the Catalyst Squad, ensuring secure, seamless, and repeatable delivery of Catalyst Solutions throughout all phases—from deal qualification to execution and scaling. This role involves translating enterprise-level risk, compliance, and security standards into practical, squad-level guidelines that enable rapid progress while safeguarding against avoidable delivery, commercial, or client risks. This position is distinct from traditional enterprise risk governance roles. The Risk Analyst will develop and implement repeatable risk patterns, pre-approved guardrails, and lightweight assurance methodologies tailored to SME&C deal velocity and productized delivery economics. They will assist the squad in making informed, timely decisions regarding project scope within standard Catalyst Solution parameters, identifying mitigation needs, and determining escalation points. The Risk Analyst collaborates closely with the Solution Specialist & GTM Lead, Solution Architect, Squad Service Delivery Lead, delivery consultants, CSP specialists, relevant Microsoft counterparts, and central risk, legal, security, privacy, and compliance teams. The role ensures that risk considerations are integrated into Catalyst Solutions by design, promoting proactive risk management rather than reactive measures. Key Responsibilities: - Oversee operational management of standard processes and programs to protect our personnel, information, reputation, and assets. - Ensure consistent and compliant application of risk and protection policies, programs, and procedures organization-wide, including delivering training and informational resources. - Develop contingency plans and response procedures to manage potential risks and maintain business continuity. - Collaborate with management to address safety and security concerns, incidents, emergencies, and disaster scenarios. - Identify and evaluate potential risk events, assessing their possible outcomes and impact on Avanade. - Manage risk drivers to address root causes and reduce the likelihood of risk events. - Monitor and analyze risk indicators to anticipate trends and inform strategic planning and proactive measures. - Respond to risk events and support the development of new solutions to minimize organizational impact. - Partner with parent companies to evaluate and mitigate shared risks. Additional Position Details: - May serve as the primary point of contact for incident reporting and escalation, either within a specific geography or globally. - May require specialized knowledge in areas such as information security, data protection, business continuity management, or general risk assessment and mitigation. Qualifications: - Proven expertise in risk management, including designing and managing programs that reduce data compromise risks through technology and process solutions. - Extensive experience leveraging data analytics to predict and mitigate risks. - Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. - Excellent written and verbal communication abilities. - Effective interpersonal skills, with the capacity to convey technical information to diverse audiences. - Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and logical reasoning skills. - Ability to adapt swiftly to changing priorities, new situations, and evolving project needs. - Demonstrated experience leading and managing professionals within a corporate environment. Preferred Education: - Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and professional experience. Preferred Experience: - 5 to 7 years of experience in operations management. Management Experience: - 1 to 2 years of team leadership or supervisory experience.
