Junior Medical Laboratory Technologist

Brief Summary

We are looking for a dedicated Junior Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our vibrant laboratory team. This position is crucial for executing vital laboratory functions and delivering precise diagnostic results to support effective patient care.

Responsibilities

• Accurately collect blood samples from patients utilizing techniques such as venipuncture, capillary collection, and heel pricks while ensuring efficiency. Independently conduct clinical laboratory tests, including urinalysis, hematology, and biochemistry. Validate and verify test results, identifying any discrepancies and taking corrective measures as needed. Maintain thorough documentation for specimen handling in line with best laboratory practices. Ensure that laboratory equipment is kept in optimal working order and manage necessary maintenance tasks. Prepare equipment, analyzers, reagents, and controls essential for laboratory testing. Execute and record Internal and External Quality Controls following established protocols. Comply with workplace safety standards and meet all regulatory and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• A recognized Diploma in Medical Technology or a related scientific discipline. At least 1 year of experience in a laboratory setting or relevant phlebotomy experience. We welcome applications from candidates with varied backgrounds and levels of experience.
