Fraud Investigator, Enterprise Fraud Risk

Job Requirements

 The primary focus of this position is independent fraud investigation. This role reports directly to the Head of Enterprise Fraud Risk within the organization’s second line of defense.

•  The individual in this position will conduct independent inquiries into e-banking fraud and internal staff fraud, determining facts, identifying methods of operation, recognizing control weaknesses, addressing process deficiencies, and making suitable recommendations.
• Must possess the ability to analyze complex data, recognize patterns, draw conclusions, and deliver recommendations aimed at mitigating and preventing fraudulent activities.
• Responsible for preparing timely and high-quality investigation reports upon the conclusion of investigations. Must document investigations thoroughly while maintaining confidentiality throughout the investigative process.
• Capable of setting aside personal biases to concentrate on fact-based evidence and remain neutral in sensitive situations involving suspects.
• The individual must stay informed about industry fraud trends and be able to pinpoint potential fraud risk areas, bringing these to the attention of the Head of Enterprise Fraud Risk.
• A crucial aspect of this role is establishing networks with industry and law enforcement agencies within the country. This includes fostering strong relationships with the police and industry counterparts externally (IBTF, MRMTF, MFAN), as well as internally with business units, functional lines, other second line of defense functions, and the Internal Audit Department.
• Execute any additional responsibilities or tasks as assigned by the Head of Enterprise Fraud Risk as needed.

Qualifications and Required Skills

• 5-10 years of experience in fraud investigations, preferably within the Banking Industry.
• Exceptional problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills, with the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively. A positive and constructive attitude is essential.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Maintain high ethical standards and integrity when managing confidential and sensitive information.
• Demonstrate strong investigative capabilities, proficiency in internet research, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and rapidly evolving environment.
