Primary Responsibilities

• Serve as the primary point of contact among business stakeholders, data teams, and technology teams to implement data lakehouse projects.
• Collect, articulate, and analyze business requirements pertaining to enterprise data, reporting, analytics, and data platform initiatives.
• Convert business requirements into comprehensive functional specifications, data specifications, data flows, and business rules.
• Collaborate with data engineers, solution architects, and technical teams to establish requirements for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and utilization.
• Examine and document existing and future data flows, encompassing data sources, mappings, transformations, business logic, and downstream usage.
• Specify data requirements for both structured and unstructured data across various business functions and source systems.
• Assist in the design and execution of Data Lakehouse architecture and data products, ensuring solutions align with business and operational needs.
• Engage with stakeholders to define standards for data quality, reconciliation, validation, and governance.
• Conduct data analysis and profiling using SQL to confirm requirements, troubleshoot data issues, and identify gaps or inconsistencies.
• Create and maintain Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Specifications, data mapping documents, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate closely with data engineering teams throughout the development cycle, including SIT, UAT, and production implementation.
• Evaluate technical solutions and data models to ensure they align with business requirements and anticipated results.
• Facilitate data migration, integration, and transformation tasks, including source-to-target mapping and reconciliation.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and changes related to requirements.
• Coordinate with various business and technology stakeholders to resolve data issues and guarantee timely project delivery.
• Assist in UAT planning, test case reviews, defect management, and business approvals.
• Ensure that data solutions adhere to applicable data governance, security, privacy, regulatory, and banking standards.

Essential Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst / Functional Business Analyst, preferably in banking or financial services.
• Demonstrated experience with Data Lake, Data Warehouse, Data Lakehouse, or enterprise data platform projects.
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data flows, data integration, data transformation, and data lifecycle management.
• Experience in converting complex business requirements into functional specifications and data requirements.
• Proficient in SQL with the ability to conduct data analysis, validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting.
• Experience in source-to-target mapping, data lineage, data modeling, and data quality principles.
• Good grasp of data ingestion and integration methodologies, including ETL/ELT, APIs, batch processing, and real-time data integration.
• Familiarity with data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Cloudera, Hadoop, or similar technologies.
• Experience with Data Lakehouse architecture, including concepts like data layers, medallion architecture, and data products, is highly desirable.
• Extensive experience in creating BRDs, functional specifications, user stories, data mappings, and acceptance criteria.
• Experience in supporting SIT/UAT, data migration, reconciliation, and production implementation.
• Strong stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to collaborate across business, data engineering, architecture, technology, and operations teams.
• Solid understanding of data governance, data quality, data security, and regulatory standards within the financial services sector.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, capable of investigating complex data challenges and translating findings into actionable solutions.
• Excellent communication abilities, with a talent for conveying complex data and technical concepts to both business and technology stakeholders.
• Experience in Agile/Scrum delivery environments is a plus.
• Familiarity with Python, Power BI/Tableau, cloud platforms, or data visualization tools is advantageous.
