Database Administrator (DBA)

Primary Responsibilities:

• Administer and provide support for MS SQL Server and Oracle/MariaDB databases within both project and client environments.
• Develop, execute, and document database standards, as well as strategies for capacity planning and performance optimization.
• Collaborate with clients and application project managers to deploy and configure database systems according to application specifications.
• Organize, plan, and manage version upgrades and patch management for database servers.
• Create, oversee, and implement comprehensive backup and recovery protocols; ensure the integrity and availability of backup operations.
• Diagnose and rectify application/database-related issues in partnership with internal teams and external vendors.
• Support database setup and installation during the SIT, UAT, and Production phases.
• Oversee daily database operations to guarantee system availability and optimal performance.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum of 3 years of practical experience in MS SQL Server / Oracle administration within Windows/Linux/Azure environments.
• Must be a Singaporean due to G50 security clearance requirements mandated by the client.
• Proficient in MariaDB installation, configuration, and setup, including MS SQL HADR AG Failover Cluster instances and Peer-to-Peer Replication.
• Familiarity with other database technologies such as Oracle, Oracle Exadata, OGG, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and Cloud Database (DBaaS) models is preferred.
• In-depth knowledge of database security hardening, monitoring practices, and capacity planning techniques.
• Exceptional coordination abilities for collaborating with clients, application teams, and vendors.
• Proven ability to thrive under pressure, meet deadlines, and maintain high database system availability.
• Strong customer orientation and a dedication to ongoing service enhancement.
• Adept at working independently while fostering robust team collaboration and maintaining professional integrity.
