Our client is a distinguished Japanese main contractor with an impressive track record of building projects throughout Singapore. With ongoing project growth, they are in search of a skilled WSHO cum ECO to champion workplace safety, ensure environmental compliance, and uphold health standards across significant construction endeavors.

Position Overview:

• Develop and uphold the Workplace Safety & Health (WSH) Management System, guaranteeing adherence to statutory regulations and company protocols.
• Evaluate site safety performance through routine inspections, audits, risk assessments, and permit-to-work processes.
• Facilitate safety meetings, toolbox talks, training sessions, and safety initiatives to cultivate a robust safety culture.
• Examine accidents, incidents, and near misses, propose corrective measures, and oversee their implementation to avert future occurrences.
• Ensure compliance with MOM, NEA, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards, maintaining all necessary documentation for audits and inspections.
• Coordinate with governmental bodies, consultants, subcontractors, and project teams regarding workplace safety, environmental health, and regulatory issues.
• Assist in environmental management efforts, including vector control, environmental monitoring, and adherence to Environmental Control Programme (ECP) standards.
• Support the Project Manager in overseeing site safety planning, worker welfare, emergency preparedness, and developer safety mandates.

Qualifications:

• Specialist Diploma in Workplace Safety & Health or an equivalent credential.
• Registered Workplace Safety & Health Officer (WSHO) with MOM.
• Certified Environmental Control Officer (ECO) registered with NEA.
• At least 5 years of applicable experience within the construction sector.
• Strong understanding of the WSH Act, subsidiary legislation, environmental laws, and ISO management systems.
• Excellent communication, leadership, stakeholder engagement, and problem-solving abilities.
  

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

• Work Schedule: 5-day work week
• Salary: Up to $7,000 plus overtime
