Corporate Trainee - Settlement

Job Overview

The selected candidate will take on the following responsibilities within the team:

• Execute comprehensive processing for financial products such as FX/MM, Derivatives, Securities, and Commercial Loans recorded under Commerzbank AG's Tokyo branch. This encompasses efficient validation of trade entries, timely resolution of Confirmation matches, precise trade settlements, cash management, rectification of post cash/trade discrepancies, and compliance with regulatory reporting obligations to EMIR.
• Identify, monitor, and swiftly address all operational and settlement-related risks.

This role is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate booking and timely settlement of trades.
• Conduct confirmation matching for Commerzbank AG branches in Tokyo, Singapore, and China.
• Prepare cash projections for Front Office funding requirements.
• Collaborate with Front Office, brokers, and counterparties to troubleshoot and resolve operational or settlement challenges.
• Execute intraday FX/MM trade reconciliations and ensure resolution of all outstanding trades and cash discrepancies promptly.
• Engage in comprehensive disaster recovery and industry testing, including regression tests.
• Fulfill all regulatory reporting obligations to EMIR in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate records and management of loan administration files.
• Assist the Group Head in enhancing process efficiency and effectiveness through continuous improvement and change management initiatives.
• Support additional responsibilities assigned by the Group Head and participate in job rotation.
• Provide holiday coverage for Commerzbank's operations in Singapore, Tokyo, China, and Frankfurt during respective branch holidays.

Additional tasks may be assigned by the Group Head, subject to job rotation.

Educational Background:

Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, or have a background from a Commercial School.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Preferably an Entry-Level candidate specializing in investment banking, commercial banking, or brokerage.
• No prior work experience necessary.
• Minimum CGPA of 3.0 required.
• A strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in both verbal and written English is mandatory.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant tools is essential.
• NOTE: Successful applicants will be offered a 12-month contract directly with Commerz Global Service Solutions Sdn Bhd. Permanent employment may be extended upon successful completion of the Corporate Trainee Program, contingent on overall performance evaluation during the program.
