AEM Technical Lead

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled AEM Technical Lead to oversee the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise-level digital platforms utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM). This position will offer technical guidance throughout the complete software development lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of scalable, secure, and high-performance digital solutions aligned with organizational goals.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in AEM development, deployment methodologies, cloud technologies, system integration, and enterprise content management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

• Direct the technical design, development, and execution of Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solutions.
• Offer technical guidance and mentorship to development teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Evaluate solution architecture to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and best practices.
• Collaborate with solution architects and business stakeholders to establish technical approaches and implementation plans.

AEM Development

• Create and develop reusable AEM components, templates, workflows, dialogs, and services.
• Implement custom features using Java, Sling Models, OSGi, HTL (Sightly), and JCR.
• Configure and customize AEM Sites, Assets, and Content Fragments.
• Maintain code quality through reviews, testing, and adherence to development standards.

Deployment & DevOps

• Oversee deployment planning and release processes across development, testing, staging, and production environments.
• Manage AEM package deployments through CI/CD pipelines.
• Facilitate deployment automation using tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or Adobe Cloud Manager.
• Conduct deployment validation, rollback planning, and post-release verification.
• Coordinate release activities with infrastructure, security, and application teams.

Integration

• Develop and sustain integrations between AEM and enterprise applications using REST APIs and web services.
• Integrate AEM with Adobe Experience Cloud products and third-party platforms as necessary.
• Assist with authentication, authorization, and enterprise security implementations.
• Ensure secure and reliable data transfer across integrated systems.

Performance & Support

• Monitor application health and enhance AEM performance.
• Resolve production incidents and conduct root cause analysis.
• Support system upgrades, patches, and platform improvements.
• Implement monitoring, logging, and performance optimization strategies.

Collaboration

• Engage closely with business users, UX teams, architects, QA teams, and project managers.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, technical design reviews, and sprint planning.
• Prepare technical documentation, deployment guides, and operational runbooks.
• Facilitate knowledge transfer and provide technical support to internal teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 6 years of experience in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) development.
• Minimum 2 years of experience leading technical teams or enterprise AEM projects.
• Extensive experience with AEM 6.x or AEM as a Cloud Service.
• Proficient in Java, OSGi, Sling Models, HTL (Sightly), JCR, and Maven.
• Experience in developing AEM Components, Templates, Workflows, and Content Fragments.
• Familiarity with Adobe Cloud Manager and CI/CD deployment pipelines.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, XML, and enterprise system integration.
• Knowledge of Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitLab CI.
• Experience with Apache Dispatcher, caching strategies, and CDN configuration.
• Familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern front-end frameworks is a plus.
• Solid comprehension of security, performance tuning, and enterprise application architecture.
• Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
