Wintel Engineer

Employment Type: 1-Year contract (Renewable)

Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday (9am - 6pm)

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee PC imaging, operating systems, applications, drivers, updates, patches, and software deployment to ensure endpoint security and readiness
• Utilize workplace management tools such as HCL BigFix, Microsoft SCCM, Citrix VDI, and Nexthink to enhance operational performance
• Conduct testing and troubleshoot endpoint and workplace modifications to minimize operational disruptions
• Design, implement, configure, and maintain AWS and/or Azure cloud infrastructures to support various business applications
• Manage cloud services, including EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, Azure App Services, Azure SQL, and Azure Functions to ensure robust security and high availability
• Provide support for cloud applications, networking, connectivity, backup, and disaster recovery efforts to uphold business continuity
• Administer Windows Servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, and PowerShell to ensure the stability of the Windows infrastructure
• Diagnose and resolve desktop, server, cloud, application, and connectivity issues to deliver prompt technical support
• Create automation scripts and implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation to enhance operational efficiency
• Assist with CI/CD pipelines and version control using Git to optimize deployment workflows
• Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, procedures, and reports to facilitate knowledge sharing and ensure compliance
• Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to design and implement solutions that align with business requirements
• Perform additional duties as assigned to support IT operations and projects

Required Competencies and Certifications

• Degree or Diploma in Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline
• A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in Windows Server, Active Directory, PowerShell, Group Policy, workplace management, PC imaging, patch management, and software distribution
• Proficiency with HCL BigFix, Microsoft SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink, or comparable workplace management tools
• Thorough understanding of PC imaging, application packaging/deployment, patch management, and software distribution
• Solid knowledge of AWS and/or Azure architecture, networking, security, and cloud services
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation, CI/CD, and Git
• Proficient in scripting with PowerShell, Python, Shell, or similar programming languages

Preferred Competencies and Qualifications

• Familiarity with MSI/Windows Installer technology
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect / Developer
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator
• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect
