Vice President, Marine Underwriting

Overview

Become a key player in a vibrant team where you will spearhead business development and risk management initiatives within a dedicated Marine portfolio. Your role will focus on driving sustainable growth while maintaining operational effectiveness and adhering to underwriting standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer strategic direction and comprehensive management of the Marine division to ensure smooth operations. Formulate and execute robust sales and underwriting strategies aimed at achieving designated growth and profitability targets. Underwrite all marine cargo, cargo liabilities, and marine hull business within specified authority limits, in compliance with company policies and treaty agreements. Obtain treaty approvals as necessary and supervise the placement of facultative reinsurance according to company security protocols. Assess renewal conditions and proactively engage in follow-ups on policy renewals to bolster business retention. Organize or facilitate training sessions for intermediaries and business partners. Participate in credit control and premium management activities. Involve yourself in special projects as directed by Senior Management.

Qualifications

• Relevant University or Professional Credentials. A minimum of 10 years of experience in underwriting or comparable operational positions in multinational or local enterprises. Extensive experience and expertise in underwriting Marine Cargo and Hull business. Strong analytical skills focused on achieving results. Exceptional organizational and planning capabilities. Demonstrated leadership skills, showcasing ingenuity and adaptability in interpersonal interactions.
