Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced QA Test Engineer with a solid grounding in Quality Assurance principles, practical experience with QA tools, and strong expertise in UFT automation for desktop applications. The successful candidate will also have experience creating automation solutions using Python with UFT, working knowledge of SQL for database validation, familiarity with Unix commands for environment and log analysis, and the communication skills required to partner effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and maintain automated test scripts using UFT and Python for desktop and enterprise applications.

Perform manual and automated testing for functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.

Create and improve automation frameworks using UFT, Python, and data-driven testing approaches.

Use SQL queries to validate databases and confirm data integrity and accuracy.

Apply Unix/Linux commands for log analysis, file handling, and environment verification.

Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA team members to review requirements and define test strategies.

Join requirement reviews and provide feedback to improve testability and ensure appropriate quality coverage.

Record test outcomes, raise and report defects, and manage tracking in test management tools including HP ALM, Octane, and Jira.

Participate in test planning, estimation, progress/status reporting, and release readiness evaluations.

Share testing progress, risks, issues, and mitigation plans with project stakeholders.

Ensure alignment with QA best practices, organizational standards, and established automation guidelines.

Good to have Selenium/Java experience.

Required Skills Qualifications:

7-10 years of QA Automation experience with UFT and Selenium.

Strong proficiency in UFT/QTP automation for desktop and enterprise applications.

Hands-on experience developing and maintaining UFT automation scripts using Python.

Experience designing and implementing automation frameworks using UFT and Python.

Basic understanding of QA methodologies, SDLC, Agile, and STLC.

Hands-on experience with QA tools such as HP ALM/QC, Octane, and Jira.

Ability to write and execute SQL queries for database validation and data reconciliation.

Familiarity with Unix/Linux commands for log analysis, troubleshooting, and environment checks.

Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact with business users, developers, project managers, and QA teams.

Strong documentation skills, including test plans, test cases, automation design documents, and status reports.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Exposure to data-driven, keyword-driven, and hybrid automation frameworks in UFT.

Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins for automation execution and reporting.

Knowledge of API testing and integration testing.

Experience with Git/Bitbucket version control and automation code management.

Experience working in Banking or Financial Services domains is a plus.

Exposure to Playwright or modern automation frameworks is an added advantage.
