Transaction Monitoring Specialist / Senior Specialist

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily reviews of AML transaction monitoring alerts (Level 1 processing) and execute comprehensive end-to-end investigations within designated timelines.
• Engage in thorough analysis utilizing both internal and external sources, offering recommendations supported by documentation for the closure of alerts or escalation to Level 2.
• Keep a meticulous record of information sources for auditing purposes.
• Respond promptly to requests for information (RFI) from stakeholders.
• Assist with ad-hoc projects and report generation tasks as directed by the Head of Department.
• Analyze AML transaction monitoring and Client Screening alerts, investigating transactional activities within required timelines to identify potential money laundering or terrorist financing activities.
• Present findings gathered during the alert analysis process to local Compliance to assist in determining if the information warrants STR filing in compliance with local regulations.
• Generate both routine and ad-hoc reports for various internal stakeholders, including the Management Board, Committees, Country/Regional Compliance Teams, and Departments.
• Complete assigned training programs within the specified deadline.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications

• Candidates with AML certification and experience managing US alerts will have a competitive advantage.
• Experience in compliance within international financial institutions or service providers.
• In-depth knowledge of AML and Sanction regulations.
• Proficient experience with generated system alerts (preferably from AML transaction monitoring systems) and Client Name Screening tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively across different cultures and borders.
• Strong interest in transaction investigations, problem-solving abilities, and a meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Fluency in both verbal and written English is essential.
• Proficient user of Microsoft tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.).
