System Analyst, Banking Products (1-year renewable contract)

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements, recognize business challenges, and define system requirements for new projects and system enhancements.
• Assess current systems and business processes to uncover opportunities for improvement, automation, and optimisation.
• Convert complex business requirements into clear functional and non-functional specifications, including use cases, user stories, process flows, and other relevant documentation.
• Coordinate closely with development teams, solution architects, and quality assurance teams across the software development lifecycle to ensure solutions align with business goals and technical standards.
• Lead workshops, meetings, and presentations to collect requirements, share findings, and secure stakeholder agreement and approval.
• Assist with System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and defect analysis to uphold the quality and integrity of delivered solutions.
• Help develop training materials and provide post-implementation support for end users.
• Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, change management, and related coordination activities.
• Continuously monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in system analysis and banking technology.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Computing, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of experience as a System Analyst, Business Analyst, or in a comparable role, ideally within the banking or financial services industry.
• Demonstrated capability to gather, analyse, and document complex business and system requirements.
• Strong skills in producing process maps, flowcharts, use cases, user stories, and other analytical documentation.
• Knowledge of banking products—especially credit origination or related areas—as well as banking operations and regulatory requirements.
• Understanding of system integration concepts, database fundamentals, SQL, and Unix operating systems.
• Basic hands-on experience with job schedulers, PuTTY, database access tools, and online and batch integration protocols.
• Familiarity with project management and documentation tools such as Jira, Confluence, and Microsoft Project.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills, with careful attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and prioritise effectively, with the capability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Capability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
