Senior Network Tooling & Automation Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for a Mid-level to Senior Network Tooling Engineer to join our team supporting a leading financial services client in Singapore. In this role, you will own the end-to-end engineering of enterprise network tooling platforms—covering architecture, upgrades, hardening, integration, and continuous enhancement. Your primary goal is to deliver dependable integrations and automation workflows that reduce manual effort, improve audit evidence quality, and maintain seamless monitoring across continuously evolving network and security environments.

Responsibilities

Platform Engineering & Architecture:

• SolarWinds: Lead the architecture and engineering of NPM, NCM, and NTA, including polling design, alerting frameworks, NCM compliance policies, automated configuration backups, custom dashboards, hardening, and upgrades.
• Infoblox: Oversee NIOS grid design, DNS/DHCP/IPAM architecture, ensure integrity of the IPAM data model, implement DNS security features, and deliver automation using WAPI.
• AlgoSec: Perform platform engineering, device onboarding (Check Point, Palo Alto), and FireFlow workflow design.
• Cisco ISE / Forescout: Implement strong platform-level integrations (pxGrid, eyeExtend) and support log forwarding to SIEM.
• Ensure high availability (HA), design reliable backup/restore and disaster recovery, and maintain accurate asset inventories across all network tooling infrastructure.

Integration & Automation:

• Architect and build end-to-end integrations between network tooling platforms and ServiceNow (for example, automated change records, AlgoSec FireFlow workflows).
• Reconcile Infoblox IPAM with discovery platforms to ensure 100% live subnet and device monitoring coverage.
• Build automated configuration compliance and change reporting dashboards aligned to stringent audit requirements (e.g., MAS TRM).
• Engineer telemetry, SNMP, log ingestion, and API integrations during data centre and security estate migrations to prevent any monitoring disruption.
• Produce clean, maintainable automation scripts using Python and Ansible, managed in Git with peer-review practices.

Standards & Documentation:

• Create intelligent event correlation and alerting models that reduce noise and promote actionable signals for operations teams.
• Document platform architectures, integration specifications, and operational runbooks to enable smooth operational handover.

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 6 to 10 years of overall network engineering experience, including at least 3 years specifically focused on engineering and integrating enterprise network tooling platforms (console-only administration will not suffice).
• Practical engineering experience with HA, upgrades, and backup/restore, with at least two of the following: SolarWinds, Infoblox, or AlgoSec.
• Strong proficiency in Python scripting with REST APIs (Infoblox WAPI, SolarWinds SWIS, AlgoSec API).
• Demonstrated experience with Git-based version control, code reviews, and ServiceNow integration (REST / MID Server).
• Sound knowledge of core networking fundamentals (routing, switching, SNMP, syslog, NetFlow).
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities; a quick learner; and an adaptable team player with excellent communication skills.

Good-to-Haves

• Experience with Ansible, NetBox, Nautobot, or CI/CD pipelines for network change management.
• Familiarity with ThousandEyes, Splunk, ELK, Cisco APIC (ACI), Arista CloudVision APIs, Zscaler, Check Point, or Palo Alto log integrations.
• Previous experience working within the banking or financial services industry.
• Relevant professional certifications such as SolarWinds Certified Professional, Infoblox/AlgoSec certifications, Cisco CCNP Automation (DevNet Professional), or Red Hat Ansible certification.
