OutSystems Developer

Key Responsibilities

• Design and improve responsive web and mobile applications utilizing OutSystems.
• Convert business requirements, user stories, and process flows into functional application components.
• Create user interfaces, business logic, data models, validations, and role-based access controls.
• Develop and integrate REST APIs and provide support for SOAP integrations as necessary.
• Write and optimize SQL queries along with data access logic.
• Conduct unit testing and assist in System Integration Testing (SIT) and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities.
• Diagnose application issues and rectify defects within specified timeframes.
• Engage in code reviews and address findings related to application quality, security, and performance.
• Facilitate application deployments, environment promotions, and post-release validations.
• Analyze production incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and implement necessary fixes.
• Maintain technical documentation and participate in Agile activities including sprint planning, stand-ups, demonstrations, and retrospectives.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of professional software development experience, specifically with hands-on OutSystems development.
• Experience utilizing OutSystems Service Studio in areas such as application development, data management, logic, integrations, and security.
• Experience in developing Reactive Web applications; exposure to Mobile or Traditional Web applications is a plus.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases, encompassing relationships, indexes, transactions, and query optimization.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, authentication, and error handling.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for UI customization and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with Git or similar version-control systems.
• Understanding of Agile development methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps or Jira.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork abilities.

Preferred Skills

• OutSystems Associate Reactive Developer, Associate Developer ODC, or equivalent certification.
• Experience with OutSystems LifeTime, Service Center, AI Mentor Studio, or Forge components.
• Exposure to Microsoft Azure and associated Microsoft technologies.
• Knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, secure coding practices, or IAM/SSO integration.
• Experience in supporting applications within public sector, healthcare, or financial services sectors is advantageous.
