Network Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Network Security Engineer to become a vital part of our team in Malaysia. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of network security principles and practices, especially focusing on Cisco technologies. This position plays a crucial role in safeguarding the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our network infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and oversee network security solutions to safeguard the organization’s data and infrastructure.
• Monitor network traffic for any suspicious activities and address security incidents promptly.
• Perform vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to pinpoint and alleviate potential security threats.
• Collaborate with IT teams to ensure secure network configurations and adherence to security policies.
• Maintain and revise security documentation, including policies, procedures, and incident reports.
• Offer technical support and guidance to team members and stakeholders on network security best practices.
• Remain updated on emerging security threats and technologies to improve the organization’s security posture.

Essential Skills:

• In-depth understanding of Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) principles and practices.
• Experience with firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and various other security technologies.
• Proficient in network protocols and services, such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and routing/switching.
• Hands-on experience with network monitoring and analysis tools.
• Capability to effectively troubleshoot and resolve network security issues.

Desirable Skills:

• Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) are advantageous.
• Familiarity with cloud security concepts and technologies.
• Experience with security frameworks and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST).
• Knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) for automation purposes.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of experience in network security or a comparable role.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
