Lead Engineer (Web)

About the Position

The Kuala Lumpur office serves as the innovation hub for MoneyLion, where creativity and ambition converge in the dynamic fintech sector. We welcome individuals who are ready to redefine traditional finance, providing a platform for diverse thinkers and industry disruptors. We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Engineer with extensive knowledge in JavaScript, specifically in Web UI frameworks and Node.js for API development. This role is crucial for developing cutting-edge user interfaces, enhancing UI/UX to surpass expectations, and effectively integrating product APIs within our Node.js applications. As a leader in the frontend web team, you will be responsible for ensuring the durability and maintainability of the MoneyLion web ecosystem across multiple infrastructure layers. Your guidance will be vital in advancing the fintech landscape alongside our innovative engineering team.

Primary Responsibilities

• Work collaboratively with the engineering team to plan and develop new features for the frontend web system.
• Design and create robust UI components and front-end libraries.
• Lead the development and implementation of unit and integration tests for our web applications.
• Promote best practices for continuous integration and deployment.
• Update and maintain user documentation to incorporate new features, design patterns, or architectural changes.
• Improve the maintainability and stability of the web application, aiming for peak performance and compliance with core web vitals standards.
• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within the web application.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a software engineering leadership role.
• Proven track record in delivering functional web applications or managing web application projects.
• In-depth knowledge of JavaScript, with TypeScript proficiency being a plus.
• Expertise in UI libraries (React, Angular, Vue, etc.), state management libraries, and their core principles.
• Significant experience in developing Node.js applications, including API integration and working with third-party libraries.
• Familiarity with modern frontend CI/CD pipelines and development tools.
• Experience with agile development frameworks.
• Strong collaboration skills with the ability to lead a cross-functional team.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
