Head of Production

• Oversee comprehensive daily production operations, ensuring product quality, safety, and timely delivery. Propel process enhancements, enhance team performance, and prepare for audits while facilitating the launch of new products.

Key Responsibilities

• Organize and direct daily production workflows to achieve output goals, deadlines, and quality benchmarks. Manage production schedules and workforce allocation to accommodate peak periods and variations in seasonal demand. Establish, execute, and continuously refine standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to hygiene, food safety, quality assurance, and operational effectiveness. Assess product quality and compliance, taking corrective action to avoid recurring problems. Mentor, guide, and assess production supervisors and team members while facilitating training and performance evaluations. Monitor attendance, productivity, and shift arrangements to enhance operational efficiency. Control operating expenses by minimizing waste and maximizing yield without sacrificing standards. Detect bottlenecks and production hazards proactively, resolve issues, and implement preventative solutions. Assist in product innovation initiatives, including trial runs, new product launches, and seasonal offerings. Prepare for and participate in audits/inspections and any necessary certification processes to maintain audit readiness. Generate production performance reports, highlighting key risks and improvement strategies for management review.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry, or a related field. 5-8 years of experience in professional baking and/or food manufacturing production. Extensive hands-on expertise in the mass production of bread, pastries, cakes, and specialty baked goods. Familiarity with food safety and workplace safety regulations (e.g., HACCP and relevant local laws). Strong leadership capabilities with a proven track record in supervising, training, and developing production teams. An analytical approach with the ability to leverage data for enhancing throughput, quality, and cost management. Effective problem-solving and communication skills, with a systematic approach to resolving issues. High levels of integrity, ownership, and accountability in a production setting.
