Facilities On-site O&M Engineer

Position: On-site Facilities Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Engineer

Location: Malaysia

Experience: At least 2 years in data center facilities management

Job Overview:

The Facilities On-site O&M Engineer is responsible for the efficient operation, routine inspection, and maintenance of critical data center infrastructure, including electrical, cooling, and fire protection systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Conduct regular inspections and monitor the condition of data center facilities.

- Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems such as UPS units, PDU, transformers, and backup generators.

- Oversee cooling systems, including chillers, CRAC units, and CRAH units.

- Verify the functionality of fire alarm systems, VESDA detectors, and monitor environmental conditions like temperature, humidity, and water leak detection.

- Assist with facility maintenance activities, change management procedures, and incident response protocols.

- Document inspection outcomes and generate comprehensive operational reports.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in data center facilities operations and maintenance.

- Strong understanding of electrical power systems, UPS, and PDU operation.

- Knowledge of HVAC systems, including chillers, CRAC, and CRAH units.

- Familiarity with fire protection systems and facility monitoring tools.

- Experience with Method of Procedure (MOP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOP), and change management processes.

- An associate degree or higher in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or Automation Engineering is preferred.

- Fluency in both Chinese and English, depending on client language requirements.
