Design Engineer

Role Overview

• Ensure timely delivery of product designs and assemblies to production, adhering to budget constraints and specifications, including functionality, reliability, safety, and performance, to help the organization achieve its objectives.
• Collaborate effectively within a team to reach shared goals.
• Consistently engage in and contribute to design and technical reviews alongside Technical Leads and Engineering Managers.
• Create comprehensive specifications and design requirements for interrelated systems.
• Identify and establish test requirements to simulate expected usage, optimizing products for durability and superior performance. Formulate strategies for data collection to set benchmarks.
• Construct functional prototypes for testing, evaluation, and presentation purposes.
• Analyze test failures and devise effective solutions.
• Work closely and communicate with other Design Functional Owners, System Owners, and the Global Operations Team to ensure timely and efficient collaboration.

Candidate Profile

• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Science discipline, or equivalent experience.
• Over 2 years of experience in product design (plastics, rubber, or metal) and development, with a proven track record in Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Able to thrive in a dynamic team environment or excel as an individual contributor, delivering products to production that meet time, cost, and specification requirements.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and 2D drawings, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stacking.
• Adopt a practical and systematic approach to design, utilizing an iterative development cycle that includes prototyping, testing, and data/result analysis.
• Employ a creative and thoughtful problem-solving methodology, adhering to structured design processes.
• Possess the ability to effectively communicate ideas within the team and across the organization.
• Demonstrate a passion for engineering and a commitment to continuous improvement.
• Familiarity with a wide range of engineering and technological disciplines, such as fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, acoustics, and electronics, is advantageous.
• Solid understanding of various manufacturing techniques and standard industrial measurement practices.
