Head of Enterprise Architecture

Objective:

• The Enterprise Architecture (EA) Organization is tasked with overseeing the complete Enterprise Architecture and governance, ensuring a strong and uniform architecture and data environment that aligns with business strategies and delivers value.
• Enterprise Architecture Management is focused on delivering business value through informed technology investments, prioritizing technology implementations, exploring new technologies and insights, fostering collaboration and innovation, and ensuring quality and consistency.
• Lead the development of Dyson's EA capabilities and manage architecture governance/principalship across Dyson's architectural domains.
• Accountable for the thoroughness of architectural designs and the development/updates of key EA deliverables at both the landscape and technical reference model levels.
• Assist in solution development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Business & IT Strategy: Spearhead the development and evolution of the EA function, ensuring a balanced integration of enterprise information systems, data, technical, and solution architecture perspectives.
• Oversee overall technology architecture and innovation activities to create a future-proof technology landscape that demonstrably impacts the business.
• Lead the identification and assessment of enterprise business drivers to meet the demands of enterprise business, information, technical, and solution architecture; analyze industry trends and market developments to gauge their possible effects on the enterprise.
• Ensure that the governance structure and compliance activities, including waiver management, are effectively aligned with EA compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with program/project teams to align solutions with architecture across all perspectives.
• Define the organizational needs for resources, structures, and cultural shifts essential for supporting the EA framework.
• Advocate for the EA process, outcomes, and results within the organization, engaging IT and business leaders; this includes evaluating (using appropriate metrics) and communicating the successes and influence of the EA, as well as leading the creation and implementation of an EA communication and education strategy.
• Design and prototype platform architectures that will advance our business. Collaborate closely with technology teams to ensure IT produces aligned technology roadmaps, strategies, and outcomes that support our business objectives.
• Responsible for collaboration with key business and IT Principalership, Portfolio Managers, and Domain Architecture management Principals to establish strategic direction.
• Act as an open-source advocate for the organization. Assist in evaluating vendor digital platforms and architectures, recommending solutions that best meet customer business needs.
• Support Business & IT strategy by delivering architectural and strategic consulting on Architectural principles, best practices, and adherence to standards.
• EA Planning; Architecture Vision & Target.
• Accountable for the formulation, maintenance, and execution of the Enterprise Architecture planning process across all architecture domains at Dyson, including assembling an Enterprise Target Architecture and Roadmap.
• Architecture Governance.
• Serve as a Senior Principal for Architecture Governance, acting as a point of escalation, review, and approval for significant issues, projects, and decisions.
• Solution Architecture: Ensure alignment of enterprise architecture with the target by facilitating decisions and coordination across projects and domains.
• Enterprise Architectural Capabilities & Assets.
• Accountable for defining architecture requirements and structures. Responsible for developing principles, guidelines, services, components, tools, standards, assets, and frameworks required to support Dyson's architecture. Provide architectural assistance to operations and project delivery teams.
• Performance Management of the Enterprise Architecture.
• Accountable for establishing key performance indicators for the overall Enterprise Architecture at Dyson and managing its performance.
• EA Communication & Awareness.
• Conduct communication and marketing initiatives for EA and its strategy (acting as an evangelist). Contribute to and oversee the EA Portal/SharePoint.

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in software engineering, computer science, Management Information Systems (MIS), or an engineering discipline, or equivalent extensive professional experience.
