MoneyLion is constructing a premier data ecosystem that will significantly enhance the capabilities of internal data users and analysts, enabling them to develop products and experiences that engage our customers. In the role of Data Engineer, you will be involved in both technical and architectural planning while contributing as a developer. You will collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and analysts as we expand the world’s most rewarding financial wellness program.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist in examining and interpreting business and technical requirements with an emphasis on the data objectives of the product
- Identify needs and create data delivery solutions
- Implement organizational policies regarding data access and distribution
- Support various teams in determining database structural requirements by assessing their applications and client operations
- Collaborate with exceptionally skilled engineers while helping them enhance their skills and reach their career aspirations
- Oversee data flow and end-to-end ETL processes for projects and initiatives, including troubleshooting data issues, performing integrity checks, designing data models, querying data, and addressing performance issues stemming from data challenges
- Assist in training staff on the data systems utilized by the company, especially through training programs for new hires on various reports and models available in the data visualization tools
- Analyze extensive data sets, including disorganized ones, to address real-world business challenges while paving the way for data cleanup and preventing future data disarray
Qualifications
- Knowledge of financial and banking products
- Proven expertise in sound software engineering practices
- Experience in building and deploying large-scale engineering products and/or infrastructure
- Proficiency in scalable data architecture, fault-tolerant ETL, and monitoring data quality in the cloud (We utilize AWS)
- Experience collaborating with a diverse array of engineers, data scientists, and product managers
- Extensive knowledge in data engineering and large-scale data processing, focusing on the development of pipelines for creating data lakes that facilitate exploration as well as machine learning model training, deployment, and scoring at scale.
- Familiarity with data science techniques and frameworks
- Experience with NoSQL, relational databases, and Presto (We work with MongoDB, MySQL, PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch)
- Proficiency in the AWS stack alongside technologies like Java, Python, Spark, and Kafka
- Familiarity with Apache Airflow or similar workflow management tools
