Data Centre Design & Strategy Lead
Job Description
We are seeking a seasoned Data Centre Infrastructure Strategy & Design Lead to influence the design, growth, and modernization of our regional data centre portfolio.
Your responsibilities will include evaluating current facilities, establishing design standards, creating costed expansion strategies, and advising on infrastructure investments. This position encompasses power, cooling, rack design, structured cabling, and network connectivity, requiring close collaboration with engineering consultants, colocation partners, and senior technology executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish data centre design, rack, power, and cabling standards
- Evaluate site capacity, infrastructure, and expansion needs
- Create costed options and business cases for funding
- Analyze and critique rack, network, and connectivity designs
- Oversee consultants, vendors, and colocation partners
- Deliver clear recommendations to senior stakeholders
Requirements
- Extensive experience in data centre design, engineering, or infrastructure strategy
- Solid understanding of UPS, PDU, cooling, containment, and power distribution
- Familiarity with network architecture, including spine-leaf and pod-based models
- Proven track record in developing costed solutions and business cases
- Excellent stakeholder and vendor management capabilities
- Experience across regional or multi-site environments is preferred
