Data Centre Design & Infrastructure Engineer

Role Summary

We are looking for an experienced Data Centre Design & Infrastructure Engineer to support the design, expansion and delivery of a regional data centre estate.

The role covers networking, hosting, data centre infrastructure, rack space, cabling, power and cooling, connectivity and capacity planning, working across multiple technology teams and external partners to deliver end-to-end infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the design, build, expansion and modernisation of data centre environments
• Assess infrastructure and capacity requirements across data centre sites
• Plan rack space, equipment placement, connectivity and capacity
• Review network and infrastructure designs and recommend practical solutions
• Support data centre migrations, upgrades and infrastructure projects
• Coordinate across network, hosting, facilities, vendors and colocation providers
• Identify infrastructure issues and support the development of appropriate solutions

Requirements

• Strong experience in data centre and enterprise infrastructure environments
• Good understanding of network architecture, including routing, switching and connectivity
• Broad understanding of networking, hosting, racks, cabling, power and cooling
• Experience in data centre design, capacity planning, migrations, upgrades or project delivery
• Practical experience working within data centre environments
• Strong stakeholder and vendor management skills
• Good problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and take ownership
