Data Centre Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

• Oversee and sustain all critical data centre infrastructure, which encompasses UPS, power distribution systems, cooling mechanisms, temperature and humidity management, as well as water detection systems.
• Guarantee that auxiliary systems, including Environment Monitoring Systems (EMS), Access Control Systems, and Electronic Visitation Management Systems, are functioning effectively.
• Collaborate with both internal teams and external service providers to troubleshoot technical challenges and deliver prompt support to customers.
• Execute maintenance tasks, shutdowns, and upgrades in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Method of Procedure (MOPs), and emergency response protocols.
• Keep precise documentation and reports regarding the operations of DC facilities, incidents, and maintenance activities.
• Assist in incident response and root cause analysis for facility-related challenges, escalating issues as required.
• Ensure rigorous compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and change management practices within the data centre setting.

Qualifications:

• NITEC/Higher NITEC or a Diploma in Electrical & Electronics, Mechanical, Computer & Communications Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent technical credentials with pertinent experience.
• In-depth knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including electrical and mechanical systems, fire detection and suppression systems, building management systems, and operations of critical facilities.
• Proven experience in the maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting of essential infrastructure.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities; adept at engaging with vendors, coworkers, and clients.
• Robust organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work in a rotating day/night shift schedule.
