Data Analyst

Position Overview

The Data Analyst plays a crucial role in converting data into valuable insights that inform business strategies. This position demands a solid understanding of the business landscape, effective stakeholder collaboration, analytical reasoning, and proficiency in data visualization to convey insights clearly.

Primary Responsibilities

Business Analysis & Insights

• Gain a thorough understanding of business operations, challenges, and policy goals.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify business requirements and convert them into analytical tasks.
• Examine datasets to uncover trends, opportunities, risks, and key performance indicators.
• Deliver actionable recommendations and insights that facilitate data-driven decision-making.

Analytics & Data Visualization

• Create, enhance, and sustain dashboards for monitoring performance, operational metrics, and user behavior analytics.
• Develop clear and impactful visual representations that effectively convey complex data insights to business users.
• Utilize data storytelling techniques to share insights with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish and monitor business metrics.

Data Preparation & Analysis

• Utilize SQL, Python, and Databricks to query, clean, and analyze data.
• Ensure the accuracy and relevance of analytical outputs through data validation and interpretation.
• Work in tandem with data engineers to enhance data accessibility and usability for reporting.

Documentation & Knowledge Management

• Create user manuals and business documentation for dashboards, reports, and analytical tools.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation regarding reporting methodologies, metric definitions, and analytical standards.

• Assist in agile delivery tasks such as requirements gathering, user story development, and acceptance testing.
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline reporting and analytics processes.

Skills & Qualifications

Technical Proficiencies

• Expertise in SQL and Python for comprehensive data analysis.
• Practical experience with dashboard and visualization tools (e.g., Databricks, Power BI).
• Familiar with Databricks or comparable analytics platforms.
• Capability to craft engaging visualizations and data narratives for varied audiences.
• Strong skills in documentation and report creation.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Jira, quality assurance testing, and agile methodologies.
