Backend Developer

This position seeks a skilled problem-solver capable of engaging in the complete software development lifecycle, from initial concept to final deployment, utilizing contemporary technologies and cloud infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities

• Create, develop, test, and launch efficient and scalable backend services and APIs using C# .NET (including .NET Core) and Node.js.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and convert them into technical solutions.
• Design and maintain robust database schemas, craft optimized SQL queries for SQL Server and PostgreSQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.
• Manage application deployments with Docker containerization, ensuring uniformity across development, staging, and production environments.
• Utilize AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, SQS/SNS) to create, deploy, and oversee highly available and fault-tolerant applications.
• Engage in code reviews to uphold code quality, maintainability, and adherence to best practices.
• Diagnose, debug, and resolve technical challenges, ensuring optimal performance and reliability of backend systems.
• Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of our development processes, tools, and infrastructure.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating them as appropriate to improve our solutions.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• 3-4 years of professional experience in a Backend Developer role or similar position.
• Expertise in C# .NET (including .NET Core) for developing robust, scalable, and secure APIs and microservices.
• Strong proficiency in Node.js for building high-performance, event-driven applications.
• Extensive experience with relational databases, particularly SQL Server and PostgreSQL, including database design, optimization, stored procedures, and complex SQL queries.
• Practical experience with Docker for application containerization, image management, and container orchestration.
• Familiarity with AWS cloud services, including but not limited to:
• Compute: EC2, Lambda
• Storage: S3, RDS (for SQL Server/PostgreSQL)
• Networking: VPC, API Gateway
• Messaging: SQS, SNS
• Monitoring: CloudWatch
• Proficient in RESTful API design and development.
• Experience with version control systems, especially Git.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to debug intricate issues across various systems.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with other cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud).
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline is advantageous.
• Familiarity with microservices architecture patterns.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and mocking frameworks.
• Understanding of security best practices in web development.
• Experience in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
• Familiarity with Terraform for infrastructure as code (IaC) is highly desirable.
