Application Solution Architect

We are looking for an experienced Application Solution Architect to lead the design, modernization, migration, and governance of enterprise applications on Microsoft Azure.

This position blends architecture leadership, presales support, application modernization, DevOps transformation, and cloud governance, backed by a practical, hands-on background across Azure PaaS, containers, DevOps, and GitHub.

The successful candidate will partner closely with business stakeholders, sales teams, architects, and engineering teams to convert business goals into secure, scalable, and cost-effective Azure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Architecture & Application Modernization

• Drive end-to-end application modernization initiatives, including the migration of legacy applications to Azure PaaS and cloud-native architectures
• Design secure, scalable, resilient Azure architectures that follow enterprise standards and best practices
• Establish architectural patterns for microservices, containerized, and serverless architectures
• Evaluate application dependencies, configurations, and migration paths
• Confirm that architectures follow enterprise architecture principles, standards, and strategies

Azure Platform & Technical Leadership

• Architect solutions using Azure App Service, Azure Functions, Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), Azure Container Instances
• Advance Infrastructure as Code (IaC) adoption through ARM templates / Terraform
• Manage deployments, observability, and reliability using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics
• Apply security and compliance controls across the application lifecycle (Entra ID, identity, data protection)

Presales & Client Engagement

• Serve as a technical lead during presales activities, customer workshops, and solution-focused discussions
• Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs), architectural recommendations, and cost estimations (ROM)
• Support RFP/RFI responses and Statements of Work (SOW)
• Develop and deliver Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to validate business value
• Present architectural choices clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders

DevOps, GitHub & Migration Leadership

• Lead and govern Azure DevOps to GitHub Enterprise Cloud migrations
• Plan, execute, and track migrations using GitHub Enterprise Importer (GEI) or equivalent tools
• Verify post-migration repositories, including issues, PRs, metadata, and CI/CD workflows
• Diagnose and resolve migration errors, warnings, and user attribution issues
• Work with development teams to ensure pipeline integrity and quality
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering migration tasks and remediation steps

Governance, Risk & Best Practices

• Define architectural standards, repeatable patterns, and best practices for engineering teams
• Set up governance mechanisms using Azure Policies and Blueprints
• Assess technical risks and recommend mitigation approaches
• Ensure solutions meet performance, security, scalability, and cost-optimization goals

Core Technical Skills

Azure & Application Architecture

• Advanced knowledge of Azure IaaS & PaaS services
• Solid background in application modernization and cloud migration strategies
• Experience designing distributed systems, microservices, and serverless architectures

Programming & Development

• Hands-on experience in one or more of:
• .NET / C#
• Java
• Node.js
• Python
• Strong understanding of application and database connectivity configurations

Containers & Kubernetes

• Containerization using Docker
• Running containerized applications on AKS
• Knowledge of Kubernetes internals and operational best practices

DevOps & Automation

• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
• Strong knowledge of Git version control, branching strategies, and repository management
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines, automation, and scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
• Experience integrating APIs into automated processes

Required Experience & Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of experience in application development and architecture
• Demonstrated leadership in application modernization and Azure migrations
• Experience leading technical teams (5+ engineers)
• Strong understanding of GitHub Enterprise Cloud and Azure DevOps
• Experience with large-scale source code repository migrations
• Experience collaborating with enterprise stakeholders and executive leadership

Certifications (Required / Preferred)

• Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (Required)
• GitHub Foundations / GitHub Actions / Azure DevOps certifications (Preferred)
