Unix Administrator

Position Overview

• Install, configure, and manage Unix-based servers and systems.
• Monitor system performance to ensure optimal availability and reliability.
• Conduct regular updates and patches to uphold security and operational efficiency.
• Diagnose and rectify hardware and software malfunctions.
• Oversee user accounts, permissions, and access management.
• Establish and maintain backup and recovery protocols.
• Work in conjunction with other IT teams to support network and application infrastructures.
• Create and update documentation for system configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Guarantee adherence to security policies and industry best practices.
• Deliver technical support and assistance to end-users and fellow IT personnel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated experience as a Unix System Administrator or in a comparable role.
• Comprehensive understanding of Unix/Linux operating systems and command-line utilities.
• Experience in system monitoring and performance optimization.
• Fundamental knowledge of network protocols and services (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
• Outstanding problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities.
