Trade Finance Officer

Position Overview:

• Review and verify documents related to Documentary Credit for both Import and Export transactions

• Inform clients about the status of document checks, indicating whether they are compliant or contain discrepancies

• Collaborate with the Processor and/or STMO (Structured Trade Middle Office) as necessary regarding documents and workflow

• Ensure compliance with Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Bank Policies, and Guidelines.

• Guarantee that all assigned transactions and tasks are executed following operating and compliance protocols

• Facilitate the smooth processing of daily transactions in line with the established Service Level Agreement

• Ensure that all assigned responsibilities and additional tasks are effectively completed

• Conduct trade sanctions screening, perform LLI checks, identify potential red flags, and escalate issues per Bank Procedures

• Monitor transactions, manage the end-to-end process for structured deals, and provide ongoing status updates to STMO (Structured Trade Middle Office)

• Respond to any SWIFT inquiries from the Bank regarding the reviewed documents and provide necessary information for the Processor to address the Bank

• Maintain a client-centric approach and effectively manage inquiries from clients and stakeholders regarding trade technical queries and document verification status; offer solutions and recommendations

• Communicate with clients to clarify instructions and obtain the necessary documentation before forwarding transactions to the Processor

• Oversee daily workflow to meet and surpass client expectations

• Identify opportunities for process enhancements

• Strive to meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI)

• Engage in ad-hoc projects and assignments as needed

• Participate in designated User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and Live Verification (LV) for system upgrades and implementations when applicable
