Your Role And Responsibilities

As a Procurement Sourcing Professional: Sourcing Leader, you will lead and manage IBM Procurement sourcing teams across global, regional, and country-level locations. Your focus is to ensure sourcing strategies are executed effectively and that IBM business objectives are achieved. You will use your knowledge of category sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, compliance, and supplier relationship management to create value through IBM’s worldwide supply base.

Your Primary Responsibilities Will Include

• Lead Sourcing Teams: Direct and motivate sourcing teams to deliver strong performance. Provide coaching, performance management, and practical guidance to support successful execution of sourcing strategies.
• Develop Sourcing Strategies: Create and execute sourcing strategies that meet supply-demand needs while maximizing IBM’s global spending power. Ensure alignment with IBM Procurement strategy and category objectives.
• Manage Supplier Relationships: Lead negotiations and contracting efforts to obtain favorable terms while sustaining long-term supplier partnerships. Ensure procurement engagements support quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness.
• Apply Agile Principles: Promote agile practices by supporting inclusion and teamwork across sourcing teams and geographies. Improve flexibility, collaboration, and responsiveness throughout negotiations and supplier management.
• Analyze Sourcing Opportunities: Use cognitive tools and analytics to find sourcing opportunities, reduce risk, and strengthen competitive advantage.

Required Technical And Professional Expertise

• Category Sourcing Expertise: Experience with category sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation, contracting, compliance, and supplier relationship management to deliver value through a global supply base.
• Leadership Experience: Experience working with teams to achieve high performance, including coaching, performance management, and guidance to ensure successful strategy execution.
• Sourcing Strategy Development: Exposure to developing and executing sourcing strategies that balance supply-demand requirements and leverage global spending power.
• Supplier Relationship Management: Experience working with suppliers to ensure quality, innovation, and cost-effectiveness in procurement engagements, including negotiation and contracting activities.
• Agile Practices: Exposure to agile principles and practices that improve flexibility, collaboration, and responsiveness in negotiations and supplier management.
