Software Test Engineer Manual Testing, SIT/UAT & API Testing

Position:

• We are seeking a proactive software test engineer to assist in the testing and deployment of a vital government web application.
• This role involves collaborating closely with developers, project managers, business users, technical teams, and external stakeholders to guarantee system functionality, integration quality, and readiness for release.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct hands-on manual functional, regression, integration, System Integration Testing (SIT), and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for web applications.
• Analyze requirements and autonomously develop test scenarios, test cases, test data, expected outcomes, and test documentation.
• Facilitate UAT processes with business users, which includes scheduling, execution, clarifying issues, and follow-up actions.
• Identify, document, track, retest, and monitor defects until resolution.
• Collaborate with developers, system engineers, project managers, business users, and external technical teams to resolve issues effectively.
• Test integrations and interfaces with external systems utilizing tools or methods such as Postman, simulators, messaging/interface validation, and API request/response testing.
• Verify data flows and system behavior across interconnected applications.
• Ensure thorough documentation of testing processes, status updates, defect tracking, and execution records are maintained.
• Be adept at working in environments where Excel or manual trackers are utilized for test execution and defect management rather than dedicated testing tools.
• Provide testing support at customer or government agency sites when necessary.
• Engage in Agile/Scrum processes, which include sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Assist in release and production-readiness activities during critical phases of projects.
• Gradually contribute to Playwright-based test automation as the team enhances its automation capabilities.

Essential Qualifications:

• Practical experience in manual software testing.
• Solid understanding of functional, regression, SIT, and UAT testing methodologies.
• Capability to independently craft structured test scenarios and test cases.
• Experience overseeing the defect lifecycle from detection to retesting and closure.
• Experience collaborating with both technical teams and business/end users.
• Basic hands-on exposure to API/interface testing, preferably with tools like Postman.
• Exceptional documentation and communication abilities.
• Proficient in using Excel for test tracking, reporting, and basic data analysis.
• Able to work autonomously in a systematic, process-oriented environment.
• Willing to provide onsite testing support at client or government locations as needed.
