Software Developer (.NET) - Banking Sector

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct research, design, and develop software applications for computers and networks, including specialized utility programs.
• Assess user requirements and formulate software solutions by leveraging principles and techniques from computer science, engineering, and mathematical analysis.
• Maintain and upgrade existing software, improve functionalities, and oversee the development and execution of testing and validation protocols.
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to integrate hardware and software systems, and define specifications and performance standards.
• Assist team members in technical tasks, provide training to new hires and junior staff, and support the IT Delivery team in troubleshooting technical issues.
• Lead complex technical projects, participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality.
• Maintain consistent code integration within the Information System, analyze how individual technical designs impact the overall architecture, and work alongside the Technical Architect to determine implementation strategies within the IS.
• Ensure the product's quality and maintainability, and verify adherence to development and testing methodologies by the team.

Qualifications and Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development
• At least 3 years' hands-on experience with C#, especially modern, cross-platform .NET frameworks
• Deep understanding of advanced C# features such as async/await, dependency injection, and more
• Proficiency in algorithms and data structures, with solid fundamentals in complexity analysis
• Experience with development tools including Jenkins, GIT, SVN, Azure DevOps, or similar platforms
• Strong ability to analyze code, comprehend execution flow, and debug effectively even without access to a debugger
• Hands-on experience with the dotnet CLI and writing and maintaining comprehensive unit and integration tests
• Proficiency with both Windows and Linux environments, including shell scripting capabilities
• Good working knowledge of Transact SQL and Entity Framework Core
• Understanding of backend technology stacks
• Experience working within Agile development methodologies
