Senior Staff Nurse, Perioperative

Position Overview

This position allows you to take charge and deliver thorough perioperative nursing care, prioritizing safety and quality during all stages of surgery.

Key Duties

• Implement safety protocols to avert injuries from sources such as chemical, electrical, and thermal hazards. Safely transport patients while monitoring for signs of skin and tissue damage throughout the transfer process. Evaluate the need for devices that enhance surgical visibility, prevent neuromuscular harm, and support optimal physiological performance. Utilize medical supplies and equipment in accordance with established safety standards. Conduct necessary counts to ensure that no instruments are retained within the patient post-surgery, thereby safeguarding patient welfare. Observe for indications of chemical, electrical, and physical injuries, while assessing the integrity of skin and tissue. Work collaboratively with team members to reduce operative time and facilitate efficient patient care. Uphold aseptic techniques to maintain a sterile environment, preventing any risk of contamination. Initiate and manage infection control protocols. Oversee the collection and proper disposal of cultures and specimens. Administer medications and solutions as prescribed, adhering to hospital guidelines.

Qualifications

• Possession of a Degree or Diploma in Nursing. Must be registered with the Singapore Nursing Board. A minimum of 4 years of experience in an Operating Theatre environment as a Scrub Nurse is highly preferred.
