Your Role and Responsibilities As a Senior Solutions Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in both early-stage evaluation during the sales process and ongoing customer value realization, guiding clients through their adoption journey and increasing their maturity with our solutions. You will collaborate with Account Executives to serve as a primary technical advisor, identifying and articulating customer Business Needs—both explicit and implicit—and designing technical solutions to achieve strategic business outcomes. Your expertise will facilitate discussions around innovative possibilities and storytelling to inspire confidence in adopting new technologies, while effectively addressing technical challenges. Solutions Engineers are integral to the Customer Success Team, fostering an environment of sustained client success and encouraging incremental adoption of Confluent’s technology. What You Will Do

• Advance innovative Data Streaming use cases from initial conception through to successful Go-Live implementation
• Lead and execute Technical Proofs of Concept to validate solutions
• Conduct Discovery sessions and Whiteboard workshops to develop new use cases and strategies
• Deliver Thought Leadership through technical presentations, talks, and workshops
• Provide hands-on guidance and best practices to enhance operational maturity of customer Confluent deployments
• Analyze customer consumption patterns to identify optimization opportunities and efficiency improvements
• Collaborate closely with Product and Engineering teams, advocating for customers and representing product capabilities within the ecosystem of clients, partners, and industry stakeholders
• Build and nurture strong relationships with key customer stakeholders, acting as a reliable partner and trusted advisor

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience in Solutions Engineering or a similar technical role
• Knowledge of RFI & RFP processes, particularly for government projects
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and Apache Flink
• Familiarity with Event-Driven architecture, Data Integration and Processing techniques, as well as Database and Data Warehouse technologies
• Direct exposure to Cloud Architecture, Migrations, Deployment, and Application Development
• Experience with Automation, GitOps methodologies, and Kubernetes environments
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or SQL
• Relevant technical certifications in Cloud Development/Architecture, Data Engineering, or Data Integration
• A proactive mindset with a strong desire to learn, solve complex technical problems, and drive innovation
• Exceptional presentation and communication skills, capable of engaging diverse audiences
• Confidence in delivering presentations to highly skilled professionals, including developers, enterprise architects, and C-level executives
