Senior Red Hat OpenShift & RHEL Engineer (L3)

Role Level: Senior / L3 Escalation

Position Summary

We are in search of a Senior OpenShift & Linux Platform Engineer (L3) responsible for the management, security, and upkeep of our enterprise Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) infrastructure. As the primary escalation point, you will conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for intricate OS and platform incidents, oversee platform upgrades, and uphold system security standards within hybrid environments.

Primary Duties

• L3 OpenShift Support: Diagnose and maintain OpenShift 4.x clusters (control plane, worker nodes, etcd, ingress, service mesh, and KubeVirt); lead platform lifecycle management, including upgrades and patching.
• Linux Platform Administration: Deliver exceptional L3 support for RHEL 7/8/9 encompassing physical, virtual, and cloud infrastructure; execute root cause analysis (RCA) for kernel, storage (LVM/NFS), and networking/SELinux issues.
• Security & Compliance: Implement RBAC, system hardening, and image vulnerability mitigation in accordance with CIS benchmarks and organizational policies.
• Integrations & Automation: Maintain automation scripts and playbooks utilizing Ansible, Python, or Bash while integrating platforms with enterprise tools (Splunk, BigFix, Active Directory/SSO).

Requirements & Essential Qualifications

• Experience: Over 7 years in Linux System Administration/Platform Engineering, with a minimum of 3 years focused on Red Hat OpenShift (OCP 4.x).
• OS Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of RHEL 7/8/9, systemd, storage drivers, firewalld, and SELinux.
• Architectural Knowledge: Strong understanding of KubeVirt, container networking, persistent storage, and virtualization technologies (VMware, KVM).
• Automation & Scripting Skills: Extensive hands-on experience with Ansible, Bash, or Python.
