Job Summary

Lead as a senior product specialist specializing in Mendix applications, delivering secure, scalable low-code solutions for enterprise clients in a hybrid work model. Partner with cross-functional teams to convert business requirements into Mendix-based products that improve operational efficiency—particularly for life and annuities insurance—while maintaining high-quality delivery and strong user satisfaction.

Responsibilities

Design Mendix applications that convert complex business requirements into streamlined, maintainable digital products providing measurable value to clients and internal teams within a hybrid work environment.

Create reusable Mendix components and microflows to optimize performance, enhance maintainability, and enable consistent application of enterprise standards across multiple product lines.

Configure Mendix data models, pages, and logic to support correct execution of business rules, validations, and workflows that reduce manual work for business users.

Collaborate with business analysts and subject matter experts to refine user stories and acceptance criteria, ensuring Mendix solutions satisfy functional requirements and non-functional expectations.

Work closely with quality engineering colleagues to define test scenarios, support automated testing strategies, and resolve defects promptly to maintain dependable Mendix application reliability.

Integrate Mendix applications with enterprise systems—including policy administration, billing, and customer portals—using connectors and services to ensure secure, consistent data exchange.

Enhance user experience through intentional page design, navigation flows, and responsive behavior, enabling end users to complete tasks efficiently with minimal training.

Review production usage metrics and user feedback to identify Mendix application improvements, and implement enhancements that increase stability, performance, and satisfaction.

Document solution designs, configuration decisions, and operational procedures to improve maintainability, support audit readiness, and enable smooth transitions between product releases.

Coordinate with infrastructure and security teams to ensure Mendix deployments align with organizational standards for access control, data protection, and compliance requirements.

Mentor peers on Mendix development practices by sharing knowledge of patterns and troubleshooting techniques, supporting a continuous improvement mindset across the product team.

Engage with stakeholders to communicate Mendix capabilities and limitations in clear business language, helping them make informed decisions about product scope and priorities.

Drive daily execution aligned with company objectives by delivering Mendix solutions that streamline operations, reduce processing time, and improve service outcomes for customers and communities.

Qualifications

Apply strong Mendix development experience across multiple projects, including expertise in domain modeling, microflows, nanoflows, and page design, to deliver robust low-code solutions.

Use practical knowledge of Mendix application lifecycle management, including versioning and deployment pipelines, to support controlled and predictable releases.

Leverage experience in integration patterns, including REST-based services and database access within Mendix, to connect applications with core enterprise platforms.

Utilize knowledge of life and annuities insurance concepts—such as policies, premiums, claims, and beneficiary structures—to design solutions reflecting real-world business processes.

Maintain strong software engineering fundamentals, including testing strategies, performance tuning, and error handling, to ensure production-ready Mendix applications.

Demonstrate the ability to work independently in a hybrid environment by managing priorities, communicating progress clearly, and collaborating effectively using digital tools.

Use strong analytical and problem-solving skills to investigate defects, determine root causes within Mendix configurations, and implement sustainable fixes that prevent recurrence.

Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical partners, in spoken and written form, to present solution options, tradeoffs, and expected outcomes for each Mendix feature.

Certifications Required
