Senior Labelling Engineer (Perai)

Responsibilities

• Develop the capacity and productivity model for Product label and barcode testing.
• Ensure the functionality and software updates of the Label tester and all automated vision inspection machines. Define the PCP and enhance key label parameters as outlined in the process control plan, product specifications, and BOM.
• Acquire a comprehensive understanding of the controls, maintenance, precautions, and setup parameters required for the label tester and automated inspection systems to align with product specifications.
• Enhance processes and HPU through mechanization and process consolidation. Commit to exceeding customer expectations in adherence to the Quality Policy.
• Oversee labeling yields and implement necessary measures to boost these yields, targeting 'Zero DPPM'.
• Manage labeling documentation, including manufacturing instructions, visual aids, Bill of Materials, ECO, and more.
• Conduct gauge repeatability and reliability studies, correlation analyses, and take actions to enhance the performance of serial number verification machines.
• Create action plans for out-of-control (OOC) situations. Support manufacturing staff with operator training, qualification, and increasing operator efficiency, alongside maintaining labeling equipment and spare parts.
• Perform additional tasks as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Ensure adherence to Safety, ESD, Cleanroom, and Housekeeping protocols.
• Monitor labeling machine performance using SPC. Evaluate metrics such as labeling process simplification, machine MTBA, MTBF, equipment conversion efficiency, and maintenance costs. Execute other duties as directed by the immediate superior when necessary.
• Drive continual improvement initiatives.
• Employ Risk-Based Thinking in the planning and execution of tasks.
• Ensure compliance with ISO standards, company policies, and relevant regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Science/Engineering, with a preference for majors in Electronics, Photonics, Mechanical, or Mechatronics.
• Preferred majors include Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunication, Mechatronics, or Mechanical.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in a related industry, particularly in a mass production setting. Experience in a fiber optic transceiver manufacturing environment is a plus.
• Proficient in computer applications, particularly those related to SPC.
• Demonstrate strong data analytical skills and a hands-on working approach.
• Ability to adapt and remain flexible in response to the evolving needs of the business.
• Familiarity with mechanical dimensioning and tolerancing analysis, as well as poka-yoke principles, is advantageous.
