About the Role

The New Product Management (NPM) Manager within Dyson's Supply Chain Global Planning Department is integral to aligning sales and operations to facilitate efficient launch strategies and meet market objectives. This position is accountable for steering the comprehensive planning strategy for the medium- and long-term across all business units. The NPM Manager ensures that the global supply chain functions smoothly, efficiently, and cost-effectively from system, demand and supply planning, and inventory optimization perspectives, thereby contributing to the overall success of the business.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in strategic planning for both Demand and Supply, with a proven history of optimizing production and distribution networks from start to finish.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducts feasibility simulations for various launch scenarios proposed by the Business Unit, factoring in key planning parameters (lead time, local seeding distribution, minimal launch quantity, SOP dates).
  • Validates the final plan in SAP IBP, ensuring all necessary settings are correctly configured.
  • Ensures that ramp plans effectively translate into market launch plans.
  • Collaborates with GSC Outsource Operations, Manufacturing Engineering, Global Procurement and Outsource Procurement, Supply Chain Finance, and both Global & Regional Supply Chain and Revenue teams to align on supply chain initiatives.
  • Operationalizes and executes the PIPO plan with minimal disruption.
  • Promotes data-driven decision-making within the global planning team through the use of advanced analytical tools and methodologies.
  • Works with Operations to address capacity at the Contract Manufacturer in line with single and multi-sourcing tactical strategies (production network optimization).
  • Manages allocations during capacity-constrained situations, ensuring alignment with stakeholders within IBP.
  • Facilitates global planning meetings to enhance communication and coordination across all functions.
  • Leads continuous improvement initiatives aimed at boosting supply chain efficiency, lowering costs, and enhancing service levels.

About You

  • A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a consumer-facing industry or an organization with an established omnichannel framework is preferred. Significant experience in long-term planning using advanced planning parameters is highly desirable.
  • Supply chain or operations certification such as APICS, CPIM, or Lean is an advantage.
  • A comprehensive understanding of the interdependencies between functions (commercial, sales, marketing, supply chain, finance, and manufacturing) and their associated cause-and-effect dynamics.
  • Extensive knowledge in demand planning, supply and inventory planning, new product introductions, resource allocation, master production scheduling (MPS), and distribution requirement planning (DRP).
  • Strong analytical abilities with expertise in complex decision-making, including proficiency in modeling, regression analysis, and effective use of statistical models.
  • A demonstrated history of optimizing production networks.
  • Exhibits flexibility and resilience, responding constructively to new challenges and demands.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills.
